Why this matters

Temporary power is used hard. Wet ground, traffic, and quick changes make faults likely.

What to cover

  1. Use equipment designed for site conditions.
  2. Keep boards closed and off the ground.
  3. Run cables overhead or protect them when they cross a route.
  4. Don't overload circuits or daisy-chain power strips.
  5. Test GFCIs before each shift.
  6. Tag out damaged equipment.

Ask the crew

  • Who looks after temporary power here?
  • Which board is most exposed to damage?
  • How do we mark a faulty board?

One thing to do today

Inspect one temporary board and the cords it supplies.
