Why this matters

Demolition releases dust, can reveal hazardous materials, and can bring down more than planned.

What to cover

  1. Review the survey for asbestos, lead, and live services before you start.
  2. Know which walls and floors carry load.
  3. Stop work and report any suspect material.
  4. Control dust with water or extraction and wear a respirator.
  5. Keep exits clear and debris moving out.
  6. Keep people out of areas that could fall.

Ask the crew

  • What do the surveys say?
  • Which wall can't we touch?
  • Where does the debris go?

One thing to do today

Read the survey together before work starts.
