The job hazard analysis

PPE required: Hard hat, Safety glasses, Gloves, Safety boots, High-visibility vest

  1. 1. Identify who could be affected

    What could go wrong

Overlooking children, older people, or people with limited mobility

    How we control it

List neighbors, routes, and entrances. Plan for people who need extra time or space.

  2. 2. Separate the site

    What could go wrong

    People entering the site

    How we control it

Use fences, hoardings, covered walkways, and signs. Lock gates when the site is closed.

  3. 3. Control hazards at the edge

    What could go wrong

    Falling objects; dust; noise; deliveries

    How we control it

Use catch fans and netting. Control dust and noise. Plan deliveries around busy times.

  4. 4. Review

    What could go wrong

    Changes that open gaps

    How we control it

Check the protection daily and after any change to the work.

  • Children are drawn to sites. Lock up and remove ladders at the end of the day.

When to use it

Use it for sites next to footpaths, roads, or occupied buildings.

Review it with the crew before the work starts, change anything that doesn't match how you'll do the job, and update it when the method, the equipment, or the site changes.

Use this JHA in Reldro

  • It arrives ready to edit, and your crew uses it on their phone, even without signal.
  • Failed items become corrective actions with an owner and a due date.
  • Every completed one is kept with the site, the date and who did it.
