Why this matters

Most problems for new people come from not knowing the rules, not from ignoring them.

What to cover

  1. Sign in and out every day.
  2. Wear the required PPE in the marked areas.
  3. Know where the exits, the meeting point, and the first aid kit are.
  4. Stay out of areas you haven't been told about.
  5. Report hazards, injuries, and near misses right away.
  6. If you're unsure, ask your supervisor before you start.

Ask the crew

  • What is the one rule new people often miss?
  • Where is the meeting point from where you stand?
  • Who do you call in an emergency?

One thing to do today

Walk the exits and the meeting point with anyone who is new.

  • It arrives ready to edit, and your crew uses it on their phone, even without signal.
  • Failed items become corrective actions with an owner and a due date.
  • Every completed one is kept with the site, the date and who did it.
