Why this matters

Dim areas hide trip hazards and make it harder for operators to see people on foot.

What to cover

  1. Check lighting before work in basements, stairwells, and corridors.
  2. Replace or report broken lights right away.
  3. Wear high-visibility clothing in traffic areas and in the dark.
  4. Don't rely on a phone light for anything but a short check.
  5. Keep light fittings and cords clear of walkways.
  6. Wipe dirt from vests, helmets, and machine lights.

Ask the crew

  • Where is the darkest part of this site?
  • Who might not see you on foot?
  • What do you do if a light goes out?

One thing to do today

Walk the stairs and corridors and fix or report each dark spot.
