Why this matters

Pours bring a lot of people, equipment, and weight together at once, with little time to correct mistakes.

What to cover

  1. Check the forms and shoring before the pour starts.
  2. Keep people out of the swing and line of the pump hose.
  3. Wear waterproof gloves and boots, and wash off wet concrete right away.
  4. Watch the forms during the pour and stop if anything moves.
  5. Keep walkways clear and protect edges.
  6. Agree signals between the pump operator and the placing crew.

Ask the crew

  • Who watches the forms?
  • What's the stop signal?
  • Where do we wash off?

One thing to do today

Brief the crew on roles and signals before the first load arrives.
