Why this matters

The label and the safety data sheet tell you what the hazards are and how to protect yourself.

What to cover

  1. Read the label every time you use a product.
  2. Know where the safety data sheets are kept.
  3. Use only the PPE and controls they list.
  4. Never use an unlabelled container.
  5. Don't mix chemicals unless the label says you can.
  6. Tell your supervisor if a label or sheet is missing.

Ask the crew

  • Where are the sheets kept?
  • What does this symbol mean?
  • What do you do if you spill it?

One thing to do today

Check that every product in use has a sheet on site.
