Why this matters

Skid steers work in tight spaces with people close by, and operators have blind spots.

What to cover

  1. Mount with three points of contact and fasten the restraint.
  2. Keep arms and legs inside the cab.
  3. Keep the bucket low when moving.
  4. Never carry riders.
  5. Keep others outside the working area.
  6. Lower the attachment and remove the key when you leave.

Ask the crew

  • What are the blind spots?
  • Who works near this machine?
  • How do you stop it in an emergency?

One thing to do today

Brief everyone who works near the machine on where to stand.
