Why this matters
A high-pressure jet can injure skin, and the damage may be worse than it looks.
What to cover
- Never point the jet at a person, or at your own hands or feet.
- Check hoses and fittings for wear.
- Keep electrical equipment dry and use a GFCI.
- Brace for the recoil with both hands on the wand.
- Release pressure before you disconnect.
- Get medical help for any injury from the jet, even a small one.
Ask the crew
- What's the pressure of this washer?
- Who's near the spray?
- What would you do if the jet hit someone?
One thing to do today
Inspect the hoses and trigger lock on each washer.
