The job hazard analysis
PPE required: Hard hat, Safety glasses, Gloves, Safety boots, Hearing protection
1. Set out and cut
What could go wrong
Saw injuries; noise; dust
How we control it
Use guards and sharp blades. Wear hearing and eye protection. Support long cuts.
2. Assemble
What could go wrong
Nail gun injuries; strains
How we control it
Follow the nail gun JHA. Use proper posture, and share heavy lifts.
3. Raise walls
What could go wrong
Walls falling during the lift; crushing
How we control it
Use enough people or a crane. Brace the wall right away. Keep people clear of the fall zone.
4. Work at height
What could go wrong
Falls from edges and openings
How we control it
Protect edges and openings before you work. Don't work on unbraced walls.
- Temporary bracing needs to stay in place until the permanent bracing is complete.
When to use it
Use it for framing crews, and review it when you start raising walls or work above the first floor.
Review it with the crew before the work starts, change anything that doesn't match how you'll do the job, and update it when the method, the equipment, or the site changes.
Use this JHA in Reldro
- It arrives ready to edit, and your crew uses it on their phone, even without signal.
- Failed items become corrective actions with an owner and a due date.
- Every completed one is kept with the site, the date and who did it.
