The job hazard analysis

PPE required: Hard hat, Safety glasses, Gloves, Safety boots

  1. 1. Check the floor and the parts

    What could go wrong

Soft or sloping floors; damaged or mixed parts

    How we control it

Use only matching parts from the same maker. Check the floor can carry the load. Lock the wheels.

  2. 2. Assemble

    What could go wrong

    Falls during assembly; missing braces

    How we control it

Follow the maker's steps and fit braces and guardrails as you go. Use outriggers or stabilizers where the instructions say.

  3. 3. Work from the tower

    What could go wrong

Tipping from overreaching or side loading; fall from the top

    How we control it

Keep the height within the maker's ratio. Stay inside the guardrails and don't climb on them.

  4. 4. Move the tower

    What could go wrong

Tipping; hitting overhead lines or ceilings; people left on top

    How we control it

Clear everyone and all tools off the platform. Push from the base, slowly, and check overhead before you roll.

  • Never move a tower with people or materials on it.

When to use it

Use it each time a tower is built or moved, or the height changes.

Review it with the crew before the work starts, change anything that doesn't match how you'll do the job, and update it when the method, the equipment, or the site changes.

Use this JHA in Reldro

  • It arrives ready to edit, and your crew uses it on their phone, even without signal.
  • Failed items become corrective actions with an owner and a due date.
  • Every completed one is kept with the site, the date and who did it.
