Schedule hard work for cooler hours. Plan rest and water.

    How we control it

Build up exposure over several days for new and returning workers.

  4. 4. Watch for signs

    What could go wrong

    Missing early warning signs

    How we control it

Watch for heavy sweating, dizziness, nausea, and confusion. Check on each other and call for help early.

  • Confusion, hot dry skin, or fainting is an emergency. Call for help.

When to use it

Use it on hot days, in the first days of a heat wave, and for new or returning workers.

Review it with the crew before the work starts, change anything that doesn't match how you'll do the job, and update it when the method, the equipment, or the site changes.

Use this JHA in Reldro

  • It arrives ready to edit, and your crew uses it on their phone, even without signal.
  • Failed items become corrective actions with an owner and a due date.
  • Every completed one is kept with the site, the date and who did it.
